Paper Pumpkin September 2020 Alternatives Stampin' Up!

 This kit was a dream for me to create alternative projects with - I'm normally not a Halloween/Fall kind of girl, but something about this kit just really got my creative juices flowing. Or was the method I employed before I did anything??? Maybe!

So what I did was PLAY with the stamps and lots of colors. If you watch the video, I show my process. I came up with a lot of ideas during "play time" and then I slept on it. (Which is really good for your brain and your problem solving) The next day I came up with all of my alternatives.

Fall card without leaves? First frost Buffalo Check fall card

Even here in the Southwest I’m starting to get in the mood for fall. Temperatures are reaching lows of 70’s even in the day time. But I’m not surrounded by deciduous trees with all the changing colors so I didn’t feel like doing leaves. Plus I’m a bit of a rebel. So here’s my fall card:

The colors are soft suede, Terra-cotta Tile, Mossy Meadow, Gray Granite, Crumb Cake, and Very Vanilla. I think that warm cozy fall feeling was achieved, don’t you?
EXPERT TIP: Use the STAMPARATUS to stamp the Buffalo Check on the Crumb Cake cardstock in Gray Granite ink. Use a large piece of paper (5x7 inches) so you can use the magnets and add 2-3 layers of ink to achieve a detailed check background. Cut with the 2nd largest stitched rectangle die after stamping. The largest rectangle was used to cut the Very Vanilla layering background. You can also use that same layer to cut your greeting label from before you glue your pieces together. No one will notice. But don't do that with this next card...
Here’s another version using the Stitched lace die for the background instead of the Buffalo Check stamped background. I also change the ribbon and the embellishments.

EXPERT TIP: If your distinctive stamp (First Frost) images start to look spotty, clean well and then re-ink lightly. Those spots are the result of too much ink.
And of course the inside is stamped...

I would love to here your thoughts on which you like best. I certainly have a favorite!

EXPERT TIP:  See the flower and leaf sprig on the envelope flap? Make an extra die cut of the large rose and add some Multi Purpose liquid glue to the back. When you let it dry without adhering it makes a removable/repositionable adhesive. Stamp the flower, add the mask, stamp the leaf on top. Remove the mask.

Tools:  Die cutting machine, paper trimmer, Wax paper (for use with the Stitched Lace die - see video) Take your pick die brush tip, Take your pick, Paper Snips, Stamparatus

Other: Snail adhesive, Multipurpose liquid glue
