Simple Star Card

Again, this card was created to enter a challenge over at Splitcoaststampers. The "limited supply" challenge asked you to create a card with a star and only ribbon as your embellishment and to keep the layers to a minimum. So here's mine...

The paper used was Soft Suede textured cardstock for the base and the stars were cut from Soft Suede, Crushed Curry, Mambo Melon, and Bermuda Bay. The stamp set used was Hello Again from the Stampin Up! 2009-10 Idea Book and Catalog. The ribbon is Soft Suede polka dot 1/2" grosgrain. I cheated on the stars, tag and star texture by using a cutting and embossing tool that is not Stampin' Up! But, honestly, it was kind of nice to get those out again today. I absolutely LOVE Stampn' Up! products, but do have tons of other stuff from my "before SU" days.
I borrowed the layout and color idea from the new Occasions Mini Catalog that comes out in January. The catalog has these darling little butterflies instead of my stars...can't wait to get that sizzlit. It cuts and embosses at the same time. So cute!!
Thanks for visiting!

12/14/2009 Oh my! I'm so excited, this card was chosen as a CAS (Clean and Simple) Favorite over at Splitcoaststampers.com. this week. Thank you!!! (I'm not sure exactly what that means, because I'm very new at SCS but I'm excited anyway!)
